Soft Magnet/Rubber Magnet

Rubber magnets, also known as flexible magnets or magnetic rubber, are composite materials made by blending ferrite magnetic powder (e.g., SrO·6Fe₂O₃) with synthetic rubber or plastic binders (e.g., chlorinated polyethylene, CPE) through extrusion, calendering, or injection molding. They exhibit softness, elasticity, and twistability, allowing them to be easily cut, punched, or laminated with adhesives or PVC coatings. Unlike rigid magnets, rubber magnets are lightweight, corrosion-resistant, and ideal for low-energy applications, with magnetic induction typically ranging from 100–600 Gauss (GS). They are widely used in advertising, automotive, electronics, and household products due to their versatility and cost-effectiveness.

Product Grades

Rubber magnets are classified into isotropic (uniform magnetic properties) and anisotropic (directional magnetization, higher strength) types. Common grades include:

Isotropic: YN-5T (1,400–1,550 GS), YN-8 (1,600–1,850 GS) — used for fridge magnets, promotional items

Anisotropic: YN-10 (2,000–2,100 GS), YN-15 (2,600 GS) — suited for micro-motors, printers, and automotive sensors

Custom Grades: Adhesive-backed variants (e.g., Y10-Y30) with multi-pole magnetization for industrial applications

Applications

Rubber magnets are utilized across diverse sectors:

Advertising & Consumer Goods: Refrigerator magnets, signage, magnetic toys

Automotive: Door seals, sensor mounts, EV components (weight reduction)

Electronics: Flexible displays, magnetic strips for devices

Industrial: Micro-motors, sealing strips, magnetic holders

Healthcare: MRI seals, wheelchair accessories

FAQs

1. Are rubber magnets strong?

They are weaker than neodymium magnets but offer flexibility and cost savings for low-power uses

2. Can they withstand high temperatures?

Standard grades operate up to 80°C; specialized versions may tolerate higher temps

3. Are they customizable?

Yes, shapes, sizes, and adhesive backing can be tailored

4 .Do they corrode?

No, their ferrite composition resists rust and humidity

5.Lead time for samples?

Free samples available; production takes 7+ days for non-stock size?
