Process Differences and Applications Between Sintered and Bonded NdFeB Magnets

As the most widely used rare-earth magnets, NdFeB magnets are mainly divided into sintered type and bonded type, which differ greatly in production process, performance characteristics and application fields. Sintered NdFeB adopts powder metallurgy and high-temperature sintering technology, featuring high magnetic energy product, strong magnetism, excellent stability and high dimensional accuracy. It adapts to various temperature conditions and is widely applied in new energy motors, precision instruments and automated industrial equipment. Bonded NdFeB is manufactured by injection molding and compression molding processes with outstanding flexibility. It can be made into special-shaped, thin-walled and complex-structured products with good batch consistency and lower cost. Although its magnetic performance is slightly lower than sintered NdFeB, it is highly suitable for lightweight products such as small home appliances, smart wearable devices and sensors. The two processes complement each other and form the core manufacturing system of modern magnetic material enterprises.
